RIBENA

I decided to pick Ribena as my drink of choice because it is a widely known branded drink that is loved by all, including myself. I would always opt for a Ribena over any other fruit drink because I believe that it is better than the rest, and I wanted to convey this in my video. 

To me, Ribena feels nostalgic and reminds me of a certain time in my life. So when I see Ribena nowadays I am instantly taken back to that time and reminded of all the good memories I have where Ribena was right there alongside me. Ribena represents something good and something happy and so for that reason I wanted to take this opportunity to attempt to capture that feeling that this drink represents in my advert. I grew up watching television and going to the cinema, and I have such vivid memories of seeing the ever changing Ribena adverts and the fun and joy that they induced in me. 

While I know that I was initially tempted to create an advert that was capturing a different, potentially off-brand drink, when I was reminded of the existence of Ribena and the reminiscent joy it represents, I knew that I had no other choice but to centre my advert on it. 

Ribena is a nationally loved drink, while I know that people my age have such fond memories of this particular drink, I know it is not limited. Ribena is a drink for everyone and is easily accessible. Because of this, I also knew there would be a large back catalogue of adverts and promotions that the brand had put out in its years, this is obviously helpful as it allows me to paint a big picture of what the brand is and what it tries to represent. I thought it would only be appropriate to adhere to the brands pre existing image, and to do it justice.
